Spring Hill Baths, near Brisbane in Queensland. Part of a series of images shot around Australia featuring interesting community pools.
One of the kids appearing rather sombre following a chaotic day shooting the children’s party catalogue.
I photographed these kids at the end of a glucose-fuelled day working with them on a children’s party gear catalogue. It seemed appropriate to switch to B&W with the Newtown Cemetery background (near Sydney) after a day shooting colourful party apparel.
This was my introduction to retouching the old-fashioned way. A local tattooist, armed with a pack of semi-permanent markers, spent four hours drawing the head, hand and feet tattoos. The rest of the body had been completely tattooed twice.
